Orion Pharma will make its trading debut today, to become the 23rd listed company in the pharmaceutical and chemical category on the Dhaka Stock Exchange. The premier pharmaceutical company will issue four crore ordinary shares at an offer price of Tk 60 each which includes a Tk 50 premium, through initial public offering (IPO).
The company got the approval from Bangladesh Securities and Exchange Commission on October 15 last year to raise Tk 240 crore using the fixed price IPO method. The company’s earnings per share is Tk 5.57 and net asset value per share Tk 76.86, according to its 2011 financial statements.
Orion Pharma, which has an existing paid-up capital of Tk 195 crore, intends to use the IPO proceeds to build capacity to expand its product portfolio.
