The key share index of country’s both the bourses—Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) -- posted gains on the first day of the week on Thursday. The DSE benchmark index, DSEX gained 12.82 points to reach 4140.30 at close. Of the 294 issues traded, 157 gained, 113 declined and 24 remained unchanged. Shares worth Tk 541.23 crore changed hands on the day.
The top 10 gainers at the DSE include Central Pharmaceuticals, Progati Life, Rupali Life, Lanka Bangla Finance, 5th ICB Mutual Fund, Apex Tannery, ICB AMC Sonali Bank 1st Mutual Fund, AMC Pran, Hakkani Publishers, and GlaxoSmithKline. The CSE key index, CSCX gained 9.80 points to reach 8063.35 at close of trading.
